Eastern Ranges had everything to celebrate this weekend after a thumping 105-point win over the Murray Bushrangers at Box Hill Oval.
Displaying four strong quarters of contested footy, the Ranges looked to be red hot contenders for finals time, as the end of the season approaches.
The Ranges were off to a flying start in the first, taking advantage of every scoring opportunity from the first bounce.
By the end of the first term, the Ranges had a healthy 20-point lead to the Bushrangers, who struggled to gain momentum this quarter.
Unfortunately for the Bushrangers, the second quarter wasn’t any more promising, with the Ranges firing on to boot another seven goals by the end of the main break.
The Ranges were dangerous up forward, only missing one out of eight set shots at goal.
Bushrangers coach, Phill Bunn gave his team a stern talking to at halftime, in an attempt to fire up the boys to get back into the game for the second half.
But they were no match for the Ranges in the second half, who prevented the Bushrangers from kicking no more than one goal, as well as slotting through seven goals to widen the gap by 68-points at three quarter time.
The run home was easy for the Ranges in the final quarter who booted another six goals to leave the Bushrangers scoreless in the last, in the Ranges biggest win for the season this year.
Ranges Luke McDonald was dynamic in the fowardline, outsmarting opponent Liam Johnson to kick seven goals for the match.
Teammate Ayden Kennedy was also impressive up forward, booting through four goals, while Cass, Burnage and Harper also kicked doubles for the match.
Best on ground for the match was the big forward, Luke McDonald who continued his consistent form up in the goal square.
Matthew Scott also had a strong four quarters collecting 26 possessions for the Ranges, and having a huge impact throughout the midfield.
The huge win sees the Ranges sitting in fifth place, only one win away from stealing fourth place from Gippsland Power.
Next week (Round 15) the Ranges travel to Sandringham to take on the Dragons on Sunday 19th July, at 2:00pm.
