Last week we travelled up the “mountain” to the Burr where the weather started badly and got worse throughout the day. Unfortunately, we could only come home with 2 wins out of 4.
The Junior Colts came up against Mt Burr in a game that if successful would secure them a place in the top 4. After a good start they boys endeavour dropped and Mt Burr were in front at 3/4 time. After a rev up from the coach the boys played their best 1/4 for the game and came away winners. Awards: KAOS: Lachlan Bowman, Pete Walters: Sam Telfer, Gary Nilsson: Brad Wight, John Cavanagh: Thomas Chant, HFC Ladies Committee: Tom Schulz and Sport & Rec Steak: Ben Leopold
The Senior Colts had an inconsistent game last week. They showed some good signs in 2 quarters but just were not prepared to work hard enough for the whole game. Unfortunately, the boy’s attitude toward running and working harder needs to change for further development and better results to occur. Awards: Seebohm Sportspower: Dale Fabris, Garry Nilsson: Stephen Ogilvie, John Cavanagh: Hugh Bateman, HFC Ladies: Micahel Ogilvie and Sport & Rec Steak: S Bell
The Reserves came away with an important win. Jimmy was home for the weekend and kicked a lazy 5 goals. Luke Haines played another consistent game. Awards: K & S Ampol: Luke Haines, Beachport Hotel: Jimmy Reimann, Dave’s Panel & Paint: Justin Winter and Grand Hotel: Saxon Ellis.
The Seniors welcomed back players in to the side unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get them over the line. Sneathy continued his good form (wish I had him in the Calcutta!). This loss sees us out of the finals series for the first time in a few seasons. Awards: Somerset Hotel: Lachie Bateman, Beachport Hotel: Brett Sneath, Millicent Golf Club: Mat Faulkner and Bompas Meal Voucher: Jeremy O’Neil.
Calcutta was 1st Brett Sneath, 2nd Mat Faulkner 3rd Lachlan Bateman.
