In the last few weeks work has picked up for Jay Reynolds and it was only this aspect of his life at Noosa that was lacking in an otherwise successful move North to Tigerland.
Work had been a bit come & go for the qualified Landscape Builder (paving, decking, rendering, brick work if you need a job done) and if Jay is to stick around up here it is having stable work to go in hand with the great time he is having with his 2009 team mates that should close the deal.
And Jay has certainly fitted in with all the boys - possibly because he isnt against the odd Saturday Night out with them - and on the field he has had a definite impact and won the respect of his team mates with his courageous and skilfull performances.
Now 23, Jay grew up in Mornington in Vic and played all his junior footy there. Four years at the Dandenong Stingrays at under 16 and under 18 levels were a great learning experience and whilst being drafted didnt eventuate he did get to play with some gifted young players and was well grounded for senior football.
Jay intially headed home to the Mornington Bulldogs to play Senior footy and was susequently enticed by an uncle to Frankston but sadly he has played in 3 Senior Grand Finals without tasting the ultimate glory. A Senior B&F at Frankston is the only medal to hang from his neck to date.
At the end of last year Crossy was watching some finals down South and spotted Jay and soon thereafter Pittsy was on the phone to see if he was interested in having a kick at Noosa.
So it was goodbye to Mum and his sister and hello to sharing a house and cooking duties with Crossy, Nackers and Gerks (scary) and enjoying a Northern footy season with our Tigers.
Jay is a popular addition to our team and he cant believe what a tight and good bunch of blokes he has teamed up with so we all hope that work keeps him busy and that he takes to the field in a Noosa jumper for many years to come.
