Max Paterson lived in Belli just west of Eumundi for the first 20 years of his life and just loved our game so much that even when dad kept him waiting until he was eligible for the under 12's, he picked up the code quickly and 10 years later is still in a Noosa jumper.
Maxy kicked the footy in the junior grades with guys like Ben Evans, Brendan Clohesy, Seamus Carrigan and every second year with the likes of Rizza. Despite some lean years (one year he won leading goalkicker with 13 goals in a team that won only a single game) Max played in 5 junior Grand Finals - losing 4 and winning one in the under 16's.
He has always loved playing wing/half forward and has an uncanny ability to read the play and make excellent position. In his first Senior match in 2009 he almost pulled off a "Didak" off a forward line contest and only the thickness of the goal post robbed him of a freakish highlight.
Max nowadays lives in Noosa with a few school mates and after schooling at Kenilworth High and Noosa High (years 11 & 12) he is in his third year of a double major course at USC in Accounting and Financial Planning. Our industrial magpie supporter also works part time at dad's cheese factory in Kenilworth to earn some cash and spends a fair bit of time at his girlfriends place in Buderim.
After Uni, Maxy plans to spend a bit of time travelling before settling into a job in financial planning/accounting.
An intelligent Collingwood supporter who can actually play the game - who would of thought there was such a person?
