BUNGAREE FOOTBALL CLUB
NOTES
ROUND 8 v Buninyong 2009
We hope everyone had a great long weekend and are fired up for the long run home to the finals. Our last game against Hepburn was a bit of a disaster. No one will get near them this year. They are a class above the rest. Well done to Tim Trigg on anther BOG performance. Other good players were Locandro, Jones, J.Brick and Morley
The Reserves also came back to earth with a thud, with a disappointing loss to Hepburn. Better players were Abbott, Webb and O’Neill
The under 18’s were no better, going down to Hepburn last game by 59 points. Better players were Ward, Bee Adams, Taylor, Trevenan and Brown. The good thing to come out of our trip to Hepburn was the magnificent performance by our under 15 boys who come way with an 8 goal to 5 goal win after conceding the first 5 goals! It showed great character and has proven that the lads are a real premiership contender this year. Better players were Forbes, Damon, Weightman, Ryan, Trevenan and Hayes.
A Grade netball continued their great form last game with a 43 goal win over Hepburn to continue their unbeaten run and remain on top. The girls will be looking forward to games against the other top sides over the next month. B Grade won, C Grade had the bye, the Under 17’s lost, whilst the 15’s and 13’s both won again.
Our next social function is our Sportsman’s Night on Saturday the 20th of June at the Woolshed. (NEXT WEEKEND!) Our guests will be Collingwood premiership player Mick McGaune, champion jockey Greg Hall, Olympic swimmer Brooke Hanson and South Dragons NBA Premiership Captain Mark Worthington. The night includes a meal, speakers, auction and phantom race call. This promises to be a great night. We urge everyone to come along. Tickets are now on sale. See Jayson or Naomi Frawley today for Tickets. You can pay for your tickets on Eftpos behind the bar today.
There is still plenty of club merchandise for sale. See Brooke Nicholson in the social rooms today.
Today we take on Buninyong who have had an up and down year like us. They are sitting one spot above us on the ladder. Today is like a final. If we are to play finals this year, these are the games we must win. We urge everyone to get behind the boys and cheer them home to victory. Go Bunga!
