The Lismore Swans have kept a clean record at home this season knocking off Byron by 13 points. The Swans played brilliant football and led from start to finish however dropped in the final quarter allowing Byron back into the game. The Swans settled in the final minutes to hold off the Magpies with Molesy putting the nail in the coffin with 3 minutes remaining. Final scores Lismore 16.5-101 defeating Byron 12.16-88.
Lismore started the game in excellent fashion and proved damaging up forward in the first quarter when they kicked 5 goals to 1 in the first quarter. The forward line proved effective with a number of options to take out a 22 point lead at the first break.
The Swans allowed Byron to kick a couple of goals in the second quarter however were able to kick 3 of there own as Lismore kept up the intensity. Swans extending the lead to 29 points.
The Magpies lifted in the third quarter and goaled several times however the Swans responded everytime to make it a goal for goal quarter with the forwards putting up some defensive pressure and capitilised in attack. The Swans extending the lead again slightly to 30 points at the final break.
The Swans kicked a couple of quick goals early in the final quarter to make it difficult for the Pies however the Swans dropped of and allowed Byron to get back into the game with 5 goals in a row to reduce the margin to just 7 points with about 7 minutes to go. However the Swans composed themselves and lifted the intensity. Molesy then kicking the sealer with 3 minutes to go. Swans victorious by 13 points.
