Kilday suffered a slight hip injury during the second term of the Eagles' win over Geelong West-St Peter's and sat off the rest of the game.
Chris Moreland, Michael Bright and Luke Kermond attracted the votes for Newtown in the only game of round seven played last weekend.
Kilday is tied for the lead on 10 votes with St Mary's defender Nick Hosking, who will be in action against St Albans this Saturday.
In the BFL Echoaward, three players are tied for the lead on nine votes with a further three on eight.
Twelve players, including Ocean Grove midfielder James Dalton, Ammos' captain Tim Clark and Torquay forward Michael Fowkes, are on six votes.
