Approximately 200 people enjoyed the festivities of the formal at the Mt Burr clubrooms on May 9th.
Many who have attended in previous years declared this year to be "the best ever".
Guests arrived, to walk through the entrance on a green jewelled carpet surrounded by candleabra and peacock feathers in urns.
The clubrooms decorated by the social club sub committee created an atmosphere of sophistication with huge hand made masquerade masks displayed on the walls and swags of tulle lit with fairy lights across the bar. The eight large round tables were decorated with white linen, glow in the dark glitter and tall glass vases of peacock feathers.
A photo booth for gentlemen and belles of the ball was created and many took advantage of the professional photographer.
The regular DJ for the club played excellent music once again and the dance floor remained full for the entire evening. Dancers were able to select any song from the massive range available.
As part of our Healthy Clubs Program we offered "Mocktails" for the guests under eighteen years of age and these were a big success including "Safe Sex on the Beach" and "The Mosquito". The specials for the evening were " Mozzie Madness" and "Red Jelly Sherrin Shots".
The formal was once again very upmarket with formal suits worn by the gentlemen and illustrious evening wear by the ladies. The Masquerade Masks were the highlight of the evening, with almost all attendees arriving in disguise.
The night ended pleasantly at 1.00am with the majority of party goers catching Millicent taxi's back to town or being picked up by family or friends.
