Caulfield and South Yarra Football Clubs have honoured Julie McLean and Paul Wilson by deciding to compete for the McLean/Wilson Shield each year whilst we are in the same Division. The total scores of the 2 matches played will determine who holds the shield.
Jules and Wal were first stalwarts and hard workers at South Yarra for many years and have been working behind the scenes at Caulfield for "yonks" now. Paul "Wal" Wilson is Team Manager for both the Senior and Reserve teams, can be found sweeping the rooms and has been known to assist in the laundry of the jumpers, whilst Jules is active on the committee, in charge of merchandise and can be seen on Saturdays being Umpires Escort, scoreboard organiser, general hand and has been known to babysit players dogs and her own grandchild, "little" Lachy, all at the same time.
We congratulate them and know they are very proud to have been bestowed with this honour, as are all their many friends at both clubs. There was lots of genuine applause when Caulfield President, Matthew Casey, made the announcement at the after match presentations ceremony on Saturday 2nd May 2009.
