On a sweltering day at Weybe Road, our Tigers took the field trying to bounce back from its first loss by knocking off the undefeated competition measuring stick in Palm Beach Currumbin
With little breeze to worry about, the Tigers attacked from the opening bounce but it was PBC that looked more settled. Slowly though our boys started to pick up the pace of the game and by 1/4 time it was Noosa by 7 points with Trompfy jumping high at the bounces and Nick Hammons, Cubby, Jay & Rabbit taking control of the clearances.
In the second 1/4 it was all Noosa as the boys piled on 4 goals 4 behinds to 1 solitary goal to head to the long break 29 points up with Boothy, Dobbo, Luke Tyrell and the skipper Bova all joining in the Tiger dominance. And gee a word about our young blokes in Aaron Laskey, Jesse Hawkesworth and Will Troedel who were all hard at it this week and earned their stripes by their overall performance not with the condition of their age being added in. You are part of the team now boys so you should strive to reach that level every week now. Well done.
A word too about the whole back half who with Adam Eady back and Brad Kearnhey's best game in a Tigers jumper as well as Bova and Will did a really great job all game
After winning the first & second quarters, our boys looked flat in the third and it was the Lions that clinically dissected our back half with precise kicking and quick legs at the fall of the ball.
8 goals to 2 and winning their only 1/4 for the match ended up being enough for the visitors.
The Noosa boys werent done with in clawing back a 3 goal deficit early in the last to 4 points with 6 minutes to go, but again Palm Beach had the answers that can only be honed by finals and premiership action. Special mention to Boothy who in the last brought the crowd to their feet with 65 metre (75 after a few beers) long bomb goal that gave us a chance and also to Hicksy who I havent seen work harder in a game this year and who finished with 3 majors
Noosa 4.3 8.7 10.7 14.13 97
Palm Beach 3.2 4.2 12.8 16.9 105

In the early game the visitors sowed the game up with a dominant second term kicking 6 goals to 1 after both teams whipped the ball up and down the ground in the first to see it even stevens at the first break
Both sides kicked 5 goals in the second half which was a big credit to our boys who were missing key young legs and included some recent additions who dont have a preseason behind them
Despite the heat the boys battle manfully with Andrew Stewart again performing well and for longer after his first run. Nackers was again a real leader and Steve Cassimaty down back and Glenn Braybon repelled attack after attack whilst Brendan Clohesy had some great touches and Stuart Burns again showed his heart and desperation.
Kevin Dunne provided a great target, Justin Baxter continues to improve (& can kick a mile) and Nick Hoekstra had his moments up forward
Noosa 1.1 2.1 3.2 7.2 44
Palm Beach 1.1 7.2 9.7 12.9 81
