In a recent club pole, 73% of respondents have compared Chadstone Football Club player Daniel Hallisey to former Carlton centre half forward Lance Whitnall.
Hallisey was selected at centre half forward in Chadstone's round one loss to Swinburne University. Whitnall is best remembered for his constant battle with weight and fitness as well as a domestic dispute with his brother, Shane. The stoush, played out through the tabloid press, hit rock bottom when a drive-by egging resulted in legal proceedings.
A Chadstone club insider indicated that Hallisey's lack of pace combined with his egg chucking prowess were the factors which most likely influenced the poll result.
When asked about the comparison, Hallisey's response was cagey and vague. He opted for another comparison, "I will be looking to emulate [current St Kilda forward] Steven Milne this week, no handballs."
The results of last week's poll:
Which AFL Centre Half Forward will Dan Hallisey model his game on?
Lance Whitnall, Carlton: 73%
Brad Miller, Melbourne: 18%
Jonathan Brown, Brisbane Lions: 9%
Nick Riewoldt, St Kilda: 0%
