Life Membership GFC - 1986
Titch’s significant career started in the Thirds at Gormandale in 1971 and he quickly made himself a regular Senior player until 1975 when he tried his luck at Traralgon. In 1979 he returned to the club as Senior Assistant Coach and in 1981 became the Senior playing Coach a position he held until 1986. In that period the Seniors were runner up in 1981 before breaking a 28 year Premiership drought in 1982. Playing under Neil Meredith in 1986 and 1987 he was a key player at Centre Half Back in the famous Neave, Hore, Parker half back line in the 1986 Premiers and Champions team. After reaching his 200 games in 1986 he was awarded a Club Life Membership. Titch resumed his Coaching career in 1988 in a non-playing capacity which produced a Senior Premiership in 1989 before his coaching at Gormandale finished in 1990. Titch also coached the League Interleague teams in the late 80’s and was bestowed the honour of a League Life Membership in 1990. Titch also had a total of 14 seasons through to 2014 as a Committee Member and has done a number of roles including Vice President, Team Manager, Football Jumper washer, and nowadays is a key member of the Clubs Chook Auction crew. It was a worthy reward for Titch in 2014 when he was inducted into the clubs Hall of Fame and along with Bill Onley was made a Legend of the Club.
