Gordon commenced his involvement with the Club when in 1973 he came out to Gormandale to play football with mates. After a couple of Reserves games he became a regular Senior player initially as a Key Forward and then moved to Full Back. In that position he won the Senior Club Best & Fairest and was named full back in the League Publicity Officers’ Senior Team of the Year in 1975. Gordon finished his football career at Gormandale at the end of the 1984 season having played in excess of 200 games for the club. He was made a Life Member of the Gormandale FC at the end of the 1984 season. Gordon was appointed to the position of Gormandale’s Treasurer in 1985 and held that position through to the end of the 1995 season during which time the club enjoyed 5 Senior Premierships over the 11 seasons. Gordon was appointed League Treasurer in 1994 which was the beginning of a long involvement with the League which included a stint at League General Manager before returning to the clubs committee in 2018. For his involvement at Club and League level he was inducted into the Clubs Hall of Fame in 2014 after being inducted into the NGFNL Hall of Fame the same year.
