Life Membership GFC - 1992
A Gormandale local Ted played in excess of 250 games between 1957 & 1972 with the exception of the 67 & 68 seasons when he Coached in Tasmania. Playing mostly at Centre Half Back, Ted won the Club Best & Fairest in 1959 and shared it in 1961, a year where he played the whole season at Full Back. Ted was disappointed in the umpires in 1961 as he only received one vote in the League Best & Fairest. After retiring from playing Ted helped the club by Goal Umpiring the Reserves from 1973 to 1976 when he and his family moved from Gormandale. Story has it that Goal Umpire Biddiscombe often gave a young Full Back by the name of Titch Hore some tips during the game. The Club recognised Teds service with a Life Membership in 1992
