Life Membership GFC - 1987
Spunky’s Football career spread from the mid 70’s to the late 80’s in which time he amassed about 240 games most of which were in the Reserves. He was a member of Reserves Premierships in 1981, 83, and 86, and won the Reserves Best & Fairest in 1976 and was runner up another 4 times in that period. Injured in 1985 he did the running for the Reserves in the 1985 Premiership. In 1988 he took on the role of Reserves Coach which he did through to 1990 and had a further stint for 2 years in 1992 and 1993 during which time the Reserves played in a number of finals. Spunky received his Life Membership in 1987 recognising his 200 games for the club. On retirement from playing Spunky was on the Committee for 10 years and was Club President for 6 years from 2005 to 2010 and was Vice President during a number of other years. In 2014 Spunky was inducted into the clubs Hall of Fame for his service both on and off the field.
