Life Membership GFC - 1988
Darky made his Senior debut in 1977 and quickly became a regular Senior player as a tough no nonsense Ruck Rover. A 200 plus game career was full of highlights with Senior Premierships in 1982, and 86, and several individual awards. In 1979, 81, and 83 he was given more League Best & Fairest votes off the umpires than any other Gormandale player, and represented the League in Interleague carnivals on many occasions. In 1988 on playing his 200th game he was awarded a Life Membership. After retiring Darky was a selector for a number of years assisting Alan Jennings and Brett Szabo in delivering the Clubs 3 Premierships in the first half of the 90’s. Darky also spent some time as a Committee Member and with his company is a significant Club Sponsor, being a way of continuing his support of the Club. For his significant contribution to Gormandale, Darky was inducted into the clubs Hall of Fame in 2014
