Josh Evans is one of those confident young men who is great to trade a bit of crap with and who through travel and his enthusiasm for life has already packed plenty into his 23 years.
Gas - a nickname earned at a petrol station on the East Coast late one night - moved to the Sunny Coast from Frankston in Vic way back in 1990 at the age of four, and had the great fortune to turn up for his first day of school at St Thomas More and sit next to one Damian Harper aka Red Dog - and well the rest is history really.
In footy, having landed in Noosa Gas started with the Tigers in Auskick in 1993 and played for the club throughout his junior years. His team mates at that early age included Gary Wallace, Jarryd Bates and Ryan Jeffery with highlights being three Grand Finals (U14's & U16's twice) for two Flags.
He showed enough promise as a young lad to earn a few games for the Lions Reserves when he was 18, and played his first game for Noosa at Senior level in the first match for 2005 - it was also his last! Gas broke a finger in that match and never recovered enough to force his way back.
In 2006, he played in the Ressies unsuccessful Grand Final match before heading West to Busselton in WA for the 2007 season where he played every game in the Seniors that year. In 2008 the footy gods turned their back on Gas and a broken elbow amongst other things saw him kicking off the dew with the Reserves when he did return.
In 2009 it was back to the Sunny Coast - back to Bli Bli with dad - and whilst he was behind the eight ball with fitness, he has endured to become an important part of the two's tilt at finals action this year.
Josh's work life has also been varied with such things as a Traineeship with AFLQ, gaining his Personal Training qualification and his current gig as an Outdoor Rec Coordinator.
Cricket, a bit of camping and good times with mates such as Red Dog and Alex Swenson take up most of Gas's spare time and he is thinking that he will have a good crach at cricket again this summer.
He's just as handy with a guitar and a bat as he is with his footy our Josh Evans, while he adds his own skills & personality to our playing group - and we hope does for many years to come
