Australia's premier underage football competition, the TAC Cup kicks off this weekend. Again this year the competition will become the AFL's major recruiting ground for the best under age footballers for the 2009 AFL Draft and the future.
The North Ballarat Rebels will take on the TAC Cup's reigning Premiership Team, the Murray Bushrangers in Bendigo at the QE Oval this Saturday starting at 1.30pm.
The Rebels have selected 15 TAC Cup debutants in the squad which will reduced to 24 after the Rebels final training session which will held at St Patrick's College tonight.
All teams in the TAC Cup can select 24 players to represent their clubs up to Round 4 of this year's competition due to unprecedented interruption to preparations due largely to the drought and limited to access to suitable training facilities.
The Rebels have also named 9 players from their new Talent Region of Warrnambool.
