Up until late March each year the wise old heads sit around every footy club in Australia and give opinions on how "the boys" will go this year.
New recruits are judged and the young fellas pushing up from the under 18's are all enthused about, while the wise men wonder aloud if the old veteran can get one more year out of his tired old legs.
Over the off season every club expects a bright successful year but the real test of what mark our 2009 Tigers are going to leave in the history books starts in game one and will leave all the talk and speculation far behind as the weeks progress.
I don't think we have to get all "Rocky" about it, but you get the feeling that this group has some qualities about it that if applied week in and week out, could make 2009 Special.
Good luck to all the young men that run out at 12pm and 2.00pm this Saturday in our magnificent Tigers uniform and may you represent yourself and our Club with pride and distinction.
