Our Senior Tigers had a good win against Sandgate at home on Saturday and head towards the season opener against Mayne with confidence and a better understanding of how the new players move and the team will function during the year ahead.
First off at midday was Butch's Reserves team and it was great to see the improved ball movement and effort as they led all day to record a 7.8 (50) to 2.0 (12) victory and gain invaluable confidence for the first game.
It was a blend of the young and old with the younger guys like Gabe & Chayse (who both has cracking games) Jack, Leachy and Nick Hoekstra showing great drive at the footy and usually finishing to guys like Sam McCosh (welcome back) Dane Gale (2 goals) and Jason Sherrif.
Indian showed more in this game as he comes to understand more about the team, while Crossy ran the team from the middle, Ben Evans was busy when on and Luke Theo was again dependable
Noosa Res 2.2 3.5 4.6 7.8 (50)
Sandgate 0.0 0.0 1.0 2.0 (12)

It was a similar story for the A Grade boys who got out of the blocks well with Trompfy back in the middle ably supported by Matt Somers and up forward MadDog and Will Troedel providing plenty to kick to. Will in particular looked like a new man up forward after recent games in the Two's.
In the wet the boys had to work hard but with Nick Hammond, Cubby, Jay, Zac, Luke, Boothy and Bova all winning possession through the middle of the ground, it was always going to put alot of forward pressure on Sandgate
The back half was really impressive too with Gary Wallace desperate as usual, Brett Duke showing the way and the slim line Bocky, and Batesy all holding sway in defence.
A how about a word of recognition for our new youngsters in Arron Laskey (15 YOA) and Jessie Hawkesworth who both handled the level calmly and with polish.
Noosa 2.4 6.6 7.10 10.14 (74)
Sandgate 0.1 2.1 3.2 5.4 (34)
