Whilst it may be the off season for the Noosa Tigers footy club, mark friday the 13th of November as a must be at the club day as the brisbane lions conduct a training session at Noosa's Weyba rd headquarters as part of their pre season for next year. Whilst names such as Brown, Black,Power and local product Drummond will be part of it, I`m sure the presence of all Austaralian and superstar recruit Brendan `Fev` Fevola should create much interest.
Fevola of course has raised many eyebrows not only for his prolific goalkicking for Carlton over many years but also for several off field indiscrepances that have been well recorded in media circles, eventually causing his exit from a once very successfull and proud footy club. His move to the Lions surely puts them in Premiership contention and with Champion forward and ex Noosa Tiger number one ticket holder Jonathon Brown up front, also poses opposition clubs many headaches.I wonder how many blue boy supporters will be down at Noosa fom 4pm on Friday the 13th of November cheering fev on in his new strip? I doubt they will be cheering for ex lion Daniel Bradshaw either after recently choosing sydney as his home in 2010. Surely an occassion not to be missed by all footy lovers within the Noosa and Sunshine Coast area with full bar facilities and canteen available at the club during the afternoon.
And if that wasn`t enough, the local firies vs police game for charity will follow the lions training session which is always a well attended and entertaining occassion. No doubt will be a terrific afternoon and night at the noosa tigers footy club.Don`t miss it!
Remember the clubs 2009 Annual general meeting will be held on November the 18th from 6pm.For all members who have a real interest in what is happening at the tigers get down to the AGM and have a say!
On the recruiting front for 2010,Fletch and his football department are extremely busy and have already signed some very promising talent as the tigers attempt to go one better in 2010.
Great also to be able to announce that Chris `Pig` cameron will take the reigns of the tigers 3rds in 2010.Chris has a wealth of senior coaching and playing experience and whilst involved at State league level in 2009,will be a very fine successor to Big Ray brown who guided the 3rds to Runners up over the past 2 years in their local competition.More on the appointment in future editions of Tiger talk.
See you at the club each Thursday for a beer.
Cheers
