ROOS "BACK UP" AT DUNNY'S
When you've gotta go you've gotta go. At least that was the case when the boys stepped up to the line on Australia day, but it almost never happened.
The Ettamogah pub, obviously backed up with paper work, forgot to invite the defending champions to compete. So team manager Graham Meredith had to urgently send a fax and later left a deposit ensuring the boys were able to compete.
Right from the very first heat the mighty Roos consisting of Owen Bailey, James Page, Brodie White and Elliott Smith (Roo's News still cant spell his surname) hit the can running, grunting all the way to back to back victories. Team pilot Kate Wulf was brave enough to sit on the throne and, helped by the withdrawal of Caloundra AFC (stomach bug), watched in awe as not one of the opposition was close enough to touch cloth.
The victory has added a winning flavour to an already impressive pre-season.
