A meeting on Wednesday this week attended by the City of Banyule, architect Dennis Payne, Old Paradians Cricket Club and of course the Watsonia Football Club settled the "finishing touches" to the pavillion redevelopment.
SETTLED - so much so, that David Payne will just be a few days in writing the last minor spec. for the builder, and in about 2-3 weeks the contracts will be ready FOR ALL to sign !!!
......THE BUILDER HAS SAID HE IS READY TO START WORK IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT......
A site induction meeting will be held to discuss estimated dates for areas to be reconstructed and to discuss what would be required by us and indeed the builder, to allow the least possible interruption.
We will need to make adjustments to some social functions, spectator areas on game days, maybe to the use of the kitchen or the canteen and possibly only minor interuption to training sessions and game days.
However, training can be modified to suit and the NFL will help with some fixturing if needed.
This is now a really exciting time for the club. Those of you who are NEW to the club, will be amongst the founding members of something new and something great...for those who have been with the club for some time, then this is certainly something you can say you had a hand in getting over the line.
It is just as exciting for our new partners, Bundoora Old Paradians Cricket Club. They too now have a place they can call HOME - this will do well for the future of both clubs.
BUT.....
Now, more than ever, it is essential for EVERYONE to buy their memberships, to attend as many club functions as possible and to help out around the place as often as possible....we saw with the 20/20 Cricket fundraiser a couple of weeks ago how we can get things done as a group.
Let's do it again now - JUST FOR US !
