After two nights and two days with over 30 of our senior players, you would reckon Fletch might be a bit tired and ready for a break but talking to him you can hear the enthusiasm and respect he has for the effort of all the boys at the preseason camp
Fletch indicated that "the commitment shown by all players toward every activity was excellent with special mention to Zac Smith, Brett Gavin, Adam Booth and Luke Tyrell"
As with most camps there were plenty of competitive aspects and Fletch explained how he set the weekend up.
"The playing group was split into 3 teams and points were awarded for all activities with each team having 2 Captains and all having to come up with a team name and team theme song.
The winning team was led by Luke and Zac they were called Superdonk and the Donkettes and scored 219pts.
Coming in second led by Bova and Bockie were the B Boys with a 165pts and third was the Sean Penn Balls Deep team led by Cubby and Rizza with 90pts." - one can only suggest that the Glory of a 10/10 Trophy left Cubby and his boys a little flat
Fletch wanted to make a special mention of the dedicated effort of Angel Duke who drove down to Kenilworth after finishing work at 4.30am on the Saturday and was there for the start of training at 6am.
Fletch was also thrilled with the work of Nifty Allen who organized and prepared the meals for the players on Friday night Saturday and Sunday morning and made sure the facilities we used were spotless before he left on Sunday.
Doug also chipped in as usual by coming up with lunch for all the boys.
Fletch summed it up by saying that "Overall it was a fantastic training camp and a great launching pad for season 2009"
