Thanks also go to Victorian Cricketer Dirk Nannes, who appeared and helped out with some Auction Items. Dirk, was and originally from Vermont Cricket Club and also his brother John played in our Senior Premiership in 1990.
The Cricketers did win the contest, as they should. Brad Taylor and Mitchell Scott were outstanding. The Vermont effort was highlighted by the effort of Fletcher Stewart. He batted for 50 plus, bowled and took the catch of the night. - a metre in from boundary with a ball heading over the fence, he leapt high to his right and somehow the ball stuck firm. It would have neen a highlight in any form of cricket.
A great night, for all who attended. Could be an annual event. Next year though, we might play football.
