After obtaining a grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, Coolaroo purchased 2 tread mills, a rowing machine, heart rate monitors, boxing equipment and several TENS machines. The purpose of the purchasing this equipment is to provide our players with the best possible environment in which to train and also to ensure that when players are injured we are able to assist positively in their recovery.
The seniors have been using this equipment in their pre-season training. New programs are being implemented to ensure the best use of this new gear. The heart rate monitors are being used to determine such things as oxygen uptake whilst training and ensuring players are training in their correct heart rate zone. The new equipment will be made available to junior teams at the discretion of the coaching staff.
This equipment can only have a positive effect on training and as a club we are very grateful to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund as it would have taken years of fund raising to raise enough money to purchase everything.
