Former AFL star and Bali bombings survivor Jason McCartney has joined the Calder Cannons FC as a specialist skills coach for season 2009.
McCartney played 182 games with Collingwood, Adelaide and North Melbourne from 1991 to 2003. He also defied all odds and survived the 2002 Bali bombings in 2002, going on to make a successful comeback to AFL football in Round 11 of that season.
Since retiring from AFL football McCartney has become a prominent motivational speaker and has written a book called After Bali, recalling his ordeal. He is currently employed by the AFL in a game development position.
The Calder Cannons are delighted to welcome Jason to its coaching staff and are looking forward to his insight and input.
