For those too young to remember, Rod Shambrook was a legend at Vermont in the 80’s playing 168 Senior games and 5 Premierships and one when he was injured. But more than that, “Shags" was a genuinely dangerous man. (on and off the field) Built like the proverbial, Rodney was a human bulldozer, nothing got in his way and he had no sympathy for any unfortunate who dared to get in his path. The grounds were usually very muddy and it was pretty hard to get out of the road when No.27 was in full flight.
Young James has been achieving wonderful things of his own with the Healesville Under 18’s and in YVMD Representative U18’s and has now decided to continue his development at Vermont. He is about 6ft in height and growing, very strongly built and he can catch.
By the way, the Shambrook name goes right back to 1920 when Vermont’s first ever team had a W. Shambrook
Good luck James, and don’t let uncle Rodney tell you how to use a forearm . We have Red Cards now.
