Yeoman will be looking for a third win in a row when it visits Langley Park to take on the Somerset Kangaroos tomorrow.
Convincing victories over Natone and Ridgley have kept the Robins in the top three on the ladder. With tough matches against South Burnie and Queenstown (on the gravel) looming, this contest is a chance for the Robins to consolidate their position.
The good news is that several players are set to return to action, following recovery from injury or release from work commitments. One half od the James brothers, Jackson who has been one of the better performers this season, is available again. Perhaps the most important inclusion is that of ruckman Jackson Daniels, fit again and ready to make life easier for the runners at centre bounces.
Somerset have unexpectedly fallen down the ladder this season and don’t look the team that has been at or near the top for over a decade. Nevertheless, they still have a core of experienced, skilful players and will see this home game as a chance to make a statement.
The last time we played the Kangaroos, on 23 April, they fielded 8 players from their Seniors Grand Final team of 2021 and 8 from their Reserves Grand Final team of 2021, with 4 who weren’t with them on that day. We can expect them to have built up their resources since then and so represent a serious challenge on their home ground. We look forward to meeting that challenge.
The Reserves failed to fire for most of their last match, against Ridgley, and will need to lift against a team that has been hard to beat for a long time.
This week we also be a big week for club veteran Marcus Gee who will be playing his 150th game in the back and red.
We look forward to seeing all the Yeoman Faithful at Langley Park tomorrow for what two exciting games of football and will be followed by the Country Night back at the club rooms after the games.
Reserves Start 12:00pm
Seniors Start 2:00pm
