Macquarie University Australian Football Club are very pleased to announce that our 2009 Coaching appointments are even closer to completion with confirmation of Daryl Hillier returning to the fold and with pre-season already underway from November 11th with great numbers already (see article below).
The 2009 appointments are as follows:
· Club Head Coach â Daniel Kenny
· Assistant Coach â Daryl Hillier
· Assistant Coach â Dean Connors
· Reserves Coach â Lee Jefferies
· Assistant Coach â David Frostick
· Under 18âs Coach â Donald Ollington
· Assistant Coach â David Bennett
Assistant Coach â Ed Noney
· Thirds Coach â vacant
Daniel Kenny joins as Club Head Coach. Daniel has recently had great experience with Under 23 development squads and Talented Player Programs, whilst also being Assistant Coach with the 2008 Sydney AFL International Rules game. He has over 9 years of coaching experience, the most recent being with Pennant Hills AFC Reserve Grade, who reached finals in both years.
Daryl Hillier rejoins as Assistant Coach which is exciting for the Club as he is seen as a valuable asset with his football knowledge and the Club looks forward to continue to see his insights and exuberance shared amongst the playing roster.
Dean Connors joins Daniel in the coaching ranks. Dean has had previous coaching experience in coaching with the U15, U16 and U18âs STARZ teams. Dean is a previous Premier League and NSW/ACT Rams player who was also a winner of the Kealey Medal (B&F U18's Premier Cup).
Lee Jefferies takes on another year as Reserve Grade Coach where it is hoped to continue to foster his passion for the game and the Club and see the âRessiesâ side move further up the ladder.
The U18âs had a sensational year moving from bottom of the ladder to a finals force under the guidance of ex-Club Captain and B&F winner Donnie Ollington. Donnie has moulded a formidable team in his first year at Coaching and 2009 sees the young Warriors seeking a flag after illustrating what they can do in the 2008 season.
The âThirdsâ Coaching position remains vacant, so if you are interested in making your first step into coaching OR would like to be a player Coach, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Club president Grant Stodulka on 0418 851 808 or email president@muafc.com.au,
