Thoughts on the result of the game against Macedon
It was an extremely disappointing result on the weekend, it looked like a really tired performance from the boys after two competitive games in tough conditions. Our injuries to key players are certainly taking its toll but we must find a way to compete regardless of circumstances. What compounded that was Macedon’s performance, they were outstanding. As good a display as I’ve seen in my time in the league.
Key moment in the game
I think the first 10 minutes of the game were pretty telling. Macedon flew out of the blocks, dominated midfield and inside 50 count and scored pretty easily. We managed to fight our way back in for the next twi quarters without really threatening the result but the last quarter we were blown of the park.
Key players that impressed and why
Most of the key players were wearing Macedon jumpers, unfortunately. Dick, Wright, Harrison and Smedley really showed their class through the middle of the ground, Wilton dominate in the ruck and Cooke was simply unstoppable!
Tayte Pears was a real positive for us on the day, and Trent Laverie, Vistarini, Franzi and Cody Bowen tried hard all day.
What are you looking for the group to improve on
We need a major improvement in ball movement, skills and ability to string possession together to give our forwards a chance. A boost in self-belief and controlling the tempo of the game when tested is also an important area we need to work on.
