The EFNL and therefore Whitehorse Pioneers are yet to receive any further guidance for community sport from the Government and AFL Victoria regarding this weekend. The State Government and the DHHS will make this decision and the League will have no influence over the outcome.
The League has left the decision with clubs as to whether we continue to train or not this week given that the Government has not made a decisive call one way or another.
We realise our players and supporters reside and/or work in all areas of metro Melbourne and therefore may have come in contact with current exposure sites, the list of which is growing (
https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/exposure-sites) and we urge players, officials, spectators, parents who have visited any of these exposure sites, particularly Teir 1 site, immediately isolate for 14 days and get tested, those who have attended a Tier 2 site must isolate and get tested. Anyone who has come in contact with people who have visited those Tier 1 or Tier 2 sites should isolate and get tested immediately.
For us at the Pioneers training will proceed as usual and in regard to Thursday night after training dinner, that will proceed at this stage but Covid-19 protocols introduced yesterday must be adhered too including scanning the Vic Govt. QR code on entry and wearing a face mask inside unless drinking or eating.
These are fluid times, and this arrangement may change at very short notice.
