At the Melton Football Netball Club AGM last Wednesday night, the Bloods President of the past five years Greg Davis made the decision to step down from the role. Brian McNabb has been elected as President for the 2021 season.
Greg will remain on the committee, and his guidance, knowledge and support will be critical in the next 12 months as we re-start the club after a season off due to COVID.
All those involved with the club are indebted to Greg for the amount of work he has done in the past five years to establish the Melton Football Netball Club as a much stronger entity than it was when he took over. In his time we have seen our financial position improve, had key personnel bought in to fill roles at the club, seen MacPherson Park transition to one of the best facilities in the league and for the first time in a long time had all three football teams playing finals in the same season. Additionally, he presided while we introduced our first open age female football team, and has worked to strengthen ties with the junior club which will see Bloods junior teams using MacPherson Park in future years.
We know that Greg will enjoy spending more time by the Murray River in 2021 and that those at the club will ensure that the foundations he has set in place over past five years are used to keep building a strong and successful club into the future.
Footnote: We will have a chat with our new President ‘Nabby’ on social media later this week.
