Our club finished the season with 6 teams in Grand Finals - nothing short of amazing, given the challenging season.
U11-1 started Grand Final day with some of their best team footy all season. The commitment these Mighty Magpies showed all year and on the big stage was simply outstanding. Taking on the undefeated Hawks, our Magpies were ready for the challenge. Despite a strong finish by the Magpies – two goals separated the teams at the final siren with the Hawks ahead. A close game with neither side giving in. Well Done Magpies, your effort and hard work is amazing.
U12-1 needed to play their best team footy of the Season to take on undefeated Hawks in their grand final game. A tight first quarter was a clear indication that these two teams were bringing their best games.
The second quarter saw the Mighty Magpies kick four goals to consolidate a 17 point lead at half time. Great team work and accurate kicking was key to set up the second half in the Magpies favour.
A strong second half and the Magpies were again accurate in front of goals. Focused and determined, the Mighty Magpies finished off the game eight goals ahead at the final siren. A true display of teamwork and a never give up attitude. Congratulations U12-1 on your Grand Final Win.
U12-2 grand final game saw the top of the ladder clash between the Magpies and Redbacks. A strong start by the Mighty Magpies saw them take control from the first bounce. Team work and great movement of the ball saw multiple goal kickers and a fantastic effort from the whole team. A terrific season by this team and a deserved result for their Grand Final win.
U13-1 travelled to Hannaford Oval to take on ladder leaders Baulkham Hills Hawks. A tight contest with the Mighty Magpies needing to play their best footy. Great team work and a ”first to the ball” attitude saw the magpies kick away to a 22 point lead at the final siren. Well done Magpies – a fantastic Grand Final win.
U15-1 headed over to Charles McLaughlin reserve to take on Baulkham Hills Hawks. A healthy rivalry between these two teams over the past few seasons set the scene for a great grand final match.
A strong start from the Mighty Magpies with some of the best teamwork all season. The players belief in playing good team footy and their commitment to each other was outstanding.
A solid game against a quality opposition saw the Magpies finish with an amazing win in their grand final game. Well done Magpies.
U17-1 Black had a great Season 2020. With a number of players in their last years of junior footy – the team was determined to finish the season strong. A joint venture team with Wollondilly Redbacks saw this team hit the ground running in Round 1 …and it didn’t stop for the rest of the season.
Undefeated minor premiers is a true reflection of this team’s commitment to playing great footy, hard work and their coaches leadership. A solid grand final win against Camden Blues was a fantastic way to finish a challenging season.
