Hi all,
As I’m sure you are all well aware by now the World Health Organisation has declared a Pandemic with regard to the coronavirus (Covid-19)
Whilst the occurrence of transmission of Covid-19 within Victoria is low at this stage it is important that community football netball clubs take steps now to assist in ensuring that our members are working to keep each other safe.
AFL Goldfields are working with us to explore procedures and protocols that may need to be put in place for when the season gets underway.
In the short term we are highlighting to our members information contained in the general advice poster attached.
If you begin to suffer from any of the symptoms which are highlighted in this document then the actions outlined need to be taken.
If there is a case of Covid -19 diagnosed with anyone in our club we are requested to immediately make contact with our league Operations Manager, who will follow up to provide further advice.
The committee have met and discussed our protocols and the following has been implemented.
Posters will be put around the club and hand sanitiser will also be provided in designated areas.
The sharing of drink bottles will be discouraged to ensure that this practice doesn’t become a factor which will lead to the transmission of the virus.
This will not have an affect on netball however, footballers need to bring their own drink container to training and the club will provide water to refill from.
Existing club supplied drink bottles have been removed from use.
AFL Goldfields will remain in close contact with us and will forward any updated advice to us.
We will be acting on any of the Government requirements which are put in place.
There may also be other changes in how we will be operating in coming days because of this information.
On behalf of the club, I thank you for your understanding as we go through these unprecedent steps to try to protect the health and wellbeing of all.
Bill Drummond
President.
