In a one-sided affair, Damien 'Rusty' Creely was a runaway winner for the Club's Reserves Best & Fairest for 2008.
The mild-mannered superman who'd rather be at the bottom of a pack than flying, Creely polled a record 160 votes to win the Kay Kelly Memorial Shield, presented on behalf of the family by Club Life Member Dave Kelly.
Damien 'Rusty' Creely was a deserved odds-on favourite with consistent outstanding individual performances throughout the season. At the half way mark, he had polled as many votes as the winners of the Senior B & F recorded for the season and was leading his Coach Simon Rowe by 33 votes. In the last 9 rounds, he gained the highest votes in a further 5 rounds to total an astounding 160 votes. Brad Pollock polled 51 votes to be B & F Runner-up, followed by Anthony Skinner who made an impression when he took the field on 34, and Jamie Mills on 33 votes. First year player Kayden Creely with a creditable 31 votes, was also the recipient of Coach Simon Rowe's award for his contribution and efforts which often included backing up for another game on a Saturday.
