TALKING POINT
Woodend/Hesket - does this team have the best forward line in the competition? Ambler, Mitton, Grady, Haddad, Smerdon and coach O'Meara have all kicked big bags of goals in matches this year. Statistically it is the fourth best team in attack this year but its variety of players stepping up and kicking big goals is very pleasing.
Lancefield - how many players in this team could we see running around in the Seniors in 2020? Dan Rebbechi, Richardt James, Ladzik and Luke Lyons have all had Senior experience. While the on-field results haven't been outstanding, there is still some depth in this Senior team.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The pair last met in the opening round of the season at Lancefield. The home time was scoreless for the first three quarters as the visitors surged away to a 124-point win. Liam O'Meara kicked seven goals for the winners while Richardt was best afield for the Tigers.
FORM
Woodend/Hesket - has won four of its last five games. It has dropped matches to Wallan (12-points) and Diggers Rest (29-points despite more scoring shots) who sit above it on the ladder.
Lancefield - ended a seven-game losing streak when it took down Rockbank by 10-goals last weekend on the road in a very impressive effort.
WHO WILL WIN
Woodend/Hesket will be too strong and run away with a solid win at home. This team is building towards a big finals campaign and will look to build on its mometum. Victory will seal its place in finals especially if Rupertswood beat Melton Centrals (currently three games behind).
RESULT OF THIS GAME
Woodend/Hesket will most likely win here and the result will keep it in the top three for at least several more weeks. Percentage will be vital (269.81%) with Rupertswood on the same points (217.19%) and Riddell two points behind but with a percentage of 244.44%. Its final two games of the season against the top two teams in the competition, Diggers Rest and Wallan.
