In a closely fought match, the Saints showed right from the start they were a force to contend with. Having on 1 player on their bench meant that it was going to be tough against a full Swans side.
In the second quarter, the Swans kept the team goalless and managed to get the lead at half time.
The 3rd quarter, the Saints shined kicking 5 goals to 1. Jack Gillingham, Simon Taylor and Beau Matthews were prominent around the ground as was Ethan Kelly and Nick Kirkman. A shoulder injury to Dylan Burkitt meant that all players had to play out the game with no interchange.
The strain started to show with the Swans kicking 5 goals in the last quarter but it was not enough. The young Saints ran out 11 point winners. Elliott Schmitt capped off a great season booting 5 goals for the day.
Jack Gillingham was awarded the medal for Best on Ground.
