Daniel Flint dominated the ruck while Lincoln Shinners, Eddie Burton and Nathan Jones continuously forced the ball forward. The backline stood strong led by Angus Legoe and Nathan Box while Nick Malone, Josh Mapstone and George Massa proved dangerous around the ground. The forward line proved lethal with Mitch Grivins leading from full forward while the onballers and forward flankers crumbed to set up goals.
The final quarter the Swans had to fight against a very strong breeze and held Byron goalless for the first 15 minutes however a free kick and a 50 metre penalty gave the Magpies a goal and made it very difficult for the Swans to get back.
