Firstly this week's games:
FOOTBALL – Saturday 8th September at City Oval, Ballarat
Seniors vs East Point at 2.15pm
NETBALL – Sunday 9th September at City Oval, Ballarat
D Grade vs Bacchus Marsh at 11.00am
Now, back to last weekend in our first Senior finals appearance for 11 years the boys didn’t disappoint, registering a 22 point win over Lake Wendouree and the opportunity to take on East Point this weekend for a spot in the Grand Final. Habes stood tall up forward with 4 goals but again the contribution was even with the Carter brothers, Arch, JH and Matty Denham among the better players.
The news wasn’t as good in the Reserves last weekend, going down to Sunbury by 5 points. The game ended with the ball in our forward 50 but missed opportunities during the middle stages of the game proved costly in the end. It was a great achievement for the boys to finish in the top six and get within a kick of going moving into the second week of finals. Coach Daniel Dimech has been reappointed for 2019 and we look forward to Dimma continuing to develop our young players in the early game next year.
Mixed results too in Netball with D Grade scoring a win against Melton Sth 35-29 to move on to a Semi Final against Bacchus Marsh this Sunday at City Oval. The 19 and Under girls lost to end what was a very promising season for them.

This is a good time to thank our volunteers and helpers around the club, in canteen, cleaning, beer booth, bar “The MICK SIMPKINS” bar that is, Gate, Thursday meals, raffles, timekeeping, team officials, coaches, trainers, Meltonians, Ground Managers, merchandise, scoreboard etc. Always something to do and always someone willing to help out. Thanks to everybody. Playing in finals in football and netball is the only reward most of our helpers get for their efforts and the boys and girls are delivering.
GO BLOODS IN 2018 AND BEYOND!!!
