League Men - Uni Rebels Vs Essington
A highly anticipated match-up between Uni Rebels and Essington showed Rebels Men came out to a good start in the first quarter going basket for basket in the first 8 minutes of the game, Essington slightly got the edge late in the quarter and finished 19 to 24. Uni Rebels could not match Essington in the second quarter and fell behind by 10 points and finished the first half with a 34 to 44 deficit. Uni Rebels tried to cut down the deficit but could not pull close and ended the third quarter 59 to 73. After a spirited fightback in the last quarter Uni Rebels managed to cut down the lead to 10 points 68 to 78 with 7 minutes left in the fourth led by Jay Hardy (24pts) and supported by Jason Nwisienyi (14pts), Marcus Ch'ng (9pts), Jake Kirby (9pts) and Ryan Smith (9pts). But Essington led by Travis Ellis (43pts) was too good for Uni Rebels last night and ran away with the game 80 to 103. This loss puts Rebels men 4th place in the ladder with 6 rounds left in the regular season.
