Commencing his career late in 2014, he came on to the scene in 2015 in a big way as a boundary umpire, umporing the 2015 and 2016 Black Diamond Cup Grand Finals. In 2017, he ran the 2017 First Division Grand Final. Matthew decided to try a different challenge and is currently plying his trade as a field umpire.
Matthew is developing his ability to combine his outstanding endurance and speed with the calm head required to make many decisions per match. His work ethic, willingness to listen and act upon advice given by coaches and his great sense of humour will serve him well in years to come.
Matthew's 50 Black Diamond Cup matches include 42 as a boundary umpire and 8 as a field umpire.
In total, Jeffrey has officiated in 80 BDAFL matches.
The NCCUA wishes Matthew all the very best for a great game in his milestone.
