What made you give umpiring a go: At the start, it was for some pocket money. then it turned into one of the only ways I could stay in the sport that I love.
What do you enjoy most umpiring: Whats not to enjoy, you get to watch from the best seat in the house, and we have a close-knit squad that make every week fun.
Highlights of your umpiring career so far: Winning the Golden Whistle 2015 for Newcastle juniors. Also Having the opportunity to umpire the U/13 and U/15 State championships, and also being selected into the NEAFL Academy squad. Having the chance to train with the best umpires in the state/country.
Best umpire you've umpired with: Ashley Borg; He has taught me so much in my little time in the NCCUA, and has made me a better umpire and the umpire I am today.
Funniest Umpire you've ran with; Ashley Borg; He just reinforces that it is still a game and manages to put a smile on my face every time I run with him.
Umpired previously before the NCCUA; Only in Newcastle Juniors
Pre-game rituals; I have to wear two pairs of socks whenever I umpire. Also, the traditional pat down, because I always forget something the first time around.
