On-field we have seen some great additions to the club, ruckman Jesse ‘Big Show’ Lehmann will be a crowd favourite, our forward power will be bolstered with talls Chris Smith and Callum Vail joining the club, while Nick Snibson and Brogan Roberts will provide extra options through the midfield. It’s also been wonderful to see our young players pushing hard in the pre-season and I’m sure we’ll see names such as Tom Girvan, James Marshall, Tom Spangaro and others pushing for senior selection come round one.
We are also looking forward to the Under 19’s season, with around 18 players moving from Colts into the Senior Club. We’d love to have 4 or 5 more players in our squad, so if you know anyone who wants a game get in touch with the club.
I am also excited to announce that we are planning to enter Netball teams into the EFL Friday Night completion in 2018. We are looking for players now, so if you are keen, please contact the club ASAP as we have to finalise our teams by early March.

Our first official function is our Season Launch, that will be held on Sunday 18th March from 4.00pm at the Bennettswood Bowling Club, 179 Station St Burwood. This was a great event last year, for just $20 you get a spit roast meal, and for an extra $5 you can barefoot bowl. We’ll announce the captains for 2018 and also update you on the club’s focus for 2018 and beyond. For more details, click here.

Our major fund-raiser for the year is our Reverse Draw. This year the major prize is a brand new Toyota Yaris, valued at $20,000. With only 200 tickets available, they are sure to sell out fast and are available for purchase now here. Those in attendance last year all had a wonderful night, and we’re sure this year will be even better.
In addition, we are calling on the Surrey community to let us know if you are able to volunteer some time to the club this year. As they say, many hands make light work so even if you can only give an hour or two please let us know and we’ll work out a job that suits you.
Finally, I’d like to introduce the Executive Committee for 2018, Joseph Crabtree is our Players’ Rep, Tim Ross is Football Operations Manager, Darren Smethurst is Secretary, Bernard Tanner Treasurer, Sandy McIver is Vice-President and I am very excited to take on the Presidency of our wonderful community-focused club this year.
