The Pumas' Reserves & Seniors may field new look teams following the defeat of the Under 18's by just 3 points in their semi-final last week. Several regular under 18 players have been unavailable in recent weeks with the 'double up' rule limiting them to 8 games in Reserves/Seniors throughout the season if they were to be eligible to play under 18's finals.
In their first meeting, Springwood Seniors looked more than competitive for much of the game against Coolie who have a 7 - 8 - 1 record for the season and will also not make the final 5. With the PNG lads back and several regular under 18's available, the Pumas could spring a surprise should a complacent Blues outfit go on the paddock. Supporters certainly want something to cheer about at Lowe Oval after witnessing a season of defeats; and no doubt the players who have turned out every week will certainly appreciate the help of some more capable bodies. A win would make for some big celebrations on into the evening when players, supporters and guests will be treated to a night of entertainment by sporting legends Peter Daicos and Rodney Hogg at the Club's annual Sportsman's Night.
The ladies will not only enjoy the footy and the night's activities, but also a Chicken & Champagne luncheon. The Club's Pumaettes host the Pink Ladies Day each year as a fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Mayor Pam Parker will be attending the function beginning at 1.00 pm.
So it's a huge weekend at the club ...... and a win or two on Saturday will just top it off nicely!
