It was welcome back to a host of old faces at the past players lunch on Saturday July 19. Full credit to the past players committee of Gerry Cahir, Dave Hall, Nev Sketcher, Chris Riley and John Onrust for attracting past players from 5 decades. Terry Fowler was in attendance, representing the 60’s ( sorry Terry ) , with Alf Beus from the seventies, Frank Hagedorn and Darren Quaife from the eighties to name but a few.
The day was a celebration of the 83 and 88 premierships, with victorious coach David Hall outlining to the gathering the importance of premierships and friendship. The shared experience of playing in a premiership endures over the years. The captain of the 1988 side, Brian Dickson, gave an emotional account of what the club and its people have meant to him.
A great day had by all.
