Swans announce new coach The South Barwon Football & Netball Club has great pleasure in announcing that David Farrell has been appointed as our Senior football coach for the next two years.
For those that are not aware of David, he has drawn a wealth of experience from working in conjunction with nine different head coaches and more than thirty-five other coaches in support and assistant roles at eight different levels of junior representative footy, TAC Cup, national championships and Senior GFL footy during his fourteen year coaching apprenticeship. He is currently Assistant Coach and Forward line coach in his second stint and fourth year at the Geelong Falcons and has GFL experience as assistant at both St Albans and Leopold Football club (inc the premiership) for three and four years respectively.
A comment from David: "While I have a commitment to the success of the playing group and club during what we hope is a successful TAC Finals campaign I am super grateful and excited about the opportunity we have at South Barwon in 2018 and beyond". "I look forward to the challenges and do not underestimate how much hard work is involved but with the professionalism and energy I have already been greeted with I know we can achieve great things!"
Faz is currently involved with the Falcons finals campaign and once that is finished, we will organise a catch up for you all, details to follow.
Finding the right person to take our club forward has been a very long and exhaustive process and we appreciate the players and members patience and for #trustingtheprocess.
We firmly believe that Faz is the best available person to build on the hard work of Clinton Wells and James Maas and take this great club back to where it belongs.
