Club Awards for Outstanding Achievement
Each year Brunswick Zebras FC makes club-wide awards to players, coaches and volunteers for outstanding performance and service. Season 2017 award winners are listed below.
D'Intino Award - Club Person of the Year |
Angelo Vocisano for his tireless work over 3 years co-ordinating the club's Mini Roos teams |
Bruno Saico Award - Best and Fairest Senior Player |
Mukudzei Mudzi for his outstanding performance in the Under 18 Boys team |
Best and Fairest Junior Female Player |
Rosie Rodger for her outstanding perormance in the Girls Under 14B team and with the Under 16C Girls team |
Best and Fairest Junior Male Player |
George Pyers for his outstanding performance with the Under 16 Boys team. |
Pierre Venditti Golden Boot Award - Highest Goal Scorer - Female |
Niamh Tabit the goal-scoring machine who lead the way with her 24 goals in the Under 14 Girls |
Pierre Venditti Golden Boot Award - Highest Goal Scorer - Male |
Connaire Mallett the big man who tallied up goals for both the Men's State League 4 Reserves and Metropolitan 6 teams. |
Melissa Barbieri Medal - Goalkeeper of the Year |
Madeleine Vlahiotis the Under 14 Girls keeper whose high qulaity performance and leadership has made her the innaugural winner of this new award named after Melissa Barbieri the Matildas goalkeeper and captain who began her football career at the club. |
Coach of the Year (Female Teams) |
Isabel Legge, coach of the State League 3 Women's team who in her first year inthe job led the club's top women's team to improved performances. |
Coach of the Year (Male Teams) |
Chris Smith who took on coaching two teams with great success, piloting the Men's State League 4 Reserves team to the Runner Up position and brought home two championship trophies with the Metropolitan 6 team, being the North West dvision championship and the play-off championship for the division. |
Manager of the Year (Female Teams) |
Meredith Zavatiero whose quiet efficiency created a supportive environment for coach, players and parents in the Under 16 Girls team and whose match reports were always a highlight of the week. |
Manager of the Year (Male Teams) |
Peter Matthews whose hard work created a supportive Under 8 Wallabies Mini Roos team culture where all players were recognised and encouraged to do their best |
