Ash Mangan, better known as ‘Mango’ first began her netball career with Kyabram Football Netball Club in 2003 as a 13 year old. Ash has been an outstanding player, dominating in the sport over the years. As a junior bomber Ash played in two u17s premierships in 03’ and 04’ before stepping up to the A grade level where she has not been at fault since. Ash has been lucky enough to be a major part of six A Grade grand finals, winning five of them in 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2016. Not only has Ash won premierships she has been named Wellman Medalist on three occasions, an amazing achievement in itself. Winning three best and fairest medals just shows the commitment and hard work she puts in and her sportsmanship. To add to this Ash has captained A-grade side to success and shows exceptional leadership skills. Ash has represented the Goulburn Valley Netball league almost every year as a valued playing captain. In 2009 Ash played in Tongala where she also won a grand final and named the league’s best before returning to Ky. In 2014 Ash joined the City West Falcons in VNL before injuring her knee which required surgery and unfortunately spent time on the sidelines. During this time she was greatly missed by her teammates. Since then Ash has come back stronger, fitter and more determined than ever. Playing in GD allows Ash to shine. She is incredibility smart, speedy and has exceptional work rate that allows her to find the ball. Her drive down the court and defensive pressure is outstanding and she is consistently encouraging toward her teammates to strive to do their best. It is because of this that Ash has been extremely successful over the years. KFNC have been lucky enough to have Ash coach teams over the years, help out with numerous roles around the club and be a leader on the netball court. Not only do we value Ash as a player but she is an amazing friend off the court, she provides plenty of laughs and we are extremely lucky to her around. An amazing achievement, Congratulations on 250 games Mango.
