Bloods Banter – Round 16 - Football and Netball Notes:
Wins again for the younger brigades in Netball and Football last weekend against Sunbury at a cold and windy Maccy Park. Thanks Beau for taking over the scoreboard. It is good to know that more than one person can operate the beast.
This week it is off to the Eastern Oval for a crucial game against the East Point Kangaroos. For the Derrimut Gym Melton Bloods to have any chance of playing in finals a win on Saturday is essential.
We ask players to be mindful of the new “Melee Rules”. It might seem that the interpretation of these by the umpires may be a bit harsh but there is no excuse. Get on with the game. The club cannot afford the levels of fines being imposed.
Memberships:
Thanks to the few members who have been paying up their dues. Better late than never I say. Please as always if you only play a handful of games for the year the club can negotiate a fair arrangement but please come and ask and don’t neglect your responsibilities. Remember Strapping Tape, Trainers, Umpires, Footballs all cost real money.
Social Notes:
The big 10K Draw is coming up fast. Be sure to get your ticket and please sell a few to your mates. The more the merrier as this is a vital fundraising event for the club. See Rayza for more tickets if you need them.
Presentation night has been announced on the clubs website as being Friday September 29th. More details to follow.
Henderson medal night is also coming up and will this year be held at Tabcorp Park Melton. Posters are on the wall and invitations will be going out to selected individuals soon. The club is required to field a certain number of attendees.
RSA Course:
Everyone who indicated interest in the RSA course please note this will be on Monday 14th of August at the Clubrooms. Be there at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. The Club have the beer booth rights for this year's BFNL Finals Series and the more hands able to assist the better.
Thursday Meals:
A low turnout last week for the Thursday night meals. This is a vital revenue source for the club and a full room creates a bit of atmosphere. All Footballers and Netballers are expected to be there.
Sponsor of the week:
This week is the Ballarat Leagues Club who have just sent us a small cheque as a rebate for some members who stopped in for a meal after one of the Ballarat games. Like all sponsorships the BLC appreciates your custom. All you have to do is book a table and show your card. If you don’t have a card the friendly staff will be glad to assist.
